This month marks Vanguard ID Systems’ 30-year anniversary. To celebrate this achievement, Vanguard held a western-style barbeque for its employees and customers who enjoyed great food, games, and prizes.
In 1987, Richard (Rick) Warther founded Vanguard ID Systems to manufacture barcoded transaction cards for the retail and restaurant industries. Today, the company is a pioneer and leader in the development of custom card solutions with numerous patents to serve all industries and applications. This includes loyalty, gift, and promotional cards; membership cards for libraries, fitness centers, and healthcare industry; and RFID cards for access control, contactless payments, and time and attendance systems.
The first two Vanguard locations were in Exton, PA. In 2000, Vanguard expanded its operations and purchased a 55,000 sq. ft. facility in West Chester, PA adjacent to the American Helicopter Museum and Brandywine Airport. The facility includes manufacturing, printing, and fulfillment; technology innovation center, sales and customer service pavilion, and graphic design team.
